I was born in a small village of Emsworth just east of Portsmouth opposite Hayling Island in Hampshire.
Here I am as a teenager & before going in the navy. The lady in the hat is my grandmother & to my right is my brother John.

I joined the Royal Navy when I turned fifteen as an engineering apprentice. I trained in Scotland at M.T.E ROSYTH, traveling home on "The Flying Scotsman" to London Kings Cross, then across to Waterloo Station and then on to Portsmouth, during the blitz.
Here I am celebrating my 80th birthday with my family. CHEERS!
